Training
mat teacher training
Teaching high-quality Pilates group classes requires more than just knowledge of exercises.
In this teacher training programme, you will learn to teach Pilates exercises in a well-founded, clear, and contemporary way—with confident communication, professional understanding, and a trained eye for participants.
Base price €750
Additional costs arise for participation in Pilates classes, as well as for making up sessions if any are missed.
The next round of mat teacher training will begin autumn 2027.
Online participation is not possible.
Scope: 40 hours of in-person instruction plus additional practice and self-study time.
Content
- History, background, and development of the Pilates method
- Anatomical and physiological foundations
- Pilates principles
- Core repertoire of the Pilates method
- Methodology, didactics, and class structure
- Professional preparation
Time commitment
In addition to the in-person sessions, further time will be scheduled for teaching practice, observations, study groups, and joint practice.
As a guideline, at least the following hours should be planned:
- 15 hours of observation
- 10 hours of own teaching / teaching practice
- 15 hours of class participation during the training
- 20 hours of theory through self-study and homework

The dates for late summer / autumn 2027 will be published here in early 2027.
Each session takes place in the afternoon.

Training
reformer teacher training
We currently do not offer Reformer Teacher Training. Individual mentoring, coaching and early-career support can be provided at an individual level. Please get in touch if you are an instructor in training or early-career instructor looking for coaching and/or mentoring.
All previously qualified Reformer instructors have fulfilled at least 100 hours of teacher training, comprised as follows:
- 40 hours of in-person instruction on theory, repertoire, and starting a career
- 10 hours of observation
- 10 hours of practical teaching.
- 20 hours of personal practice and group practice
- 2 hours of individual coaching
- At least 18 hours of independent study and completion of assignments.
